He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
He Has Risen…Alleluia! Blessed Easter to you.
2020 will be a historical year for me and many. With lockdown, movement control orders (MCO), whatever names was given for the moment we were in. It was heard from so many of the empty churches throughout the Easter Triduum. For me, I felt a little lost with the online masses almost throughout Lent let alone Easter Triduum. I felt that God was missing in this equation.
On Maundy Thursday
While switching on the television to attend mass (still sounds weird to me). My little niece brought her bag of toys and placed it in the center of the hallway playing with them. She was upset that I took control of the television. There is an unwritten rule that the television belongs to her.
As Mass started she took a glance at the television wondering what I was watching. Then took a glance at me and saw me doing sign of the Cross. Quickly but quietly she made the sign of the Cross on herself. Kept her toys back in the bag and sat herself next to her mother.
For Easter Vigil
We were tuned in to the 10PM vigil. Apparently it has become a tradition to attend the late night Vigil. My little niece was all dressed up even with her princess shoes and half dazed.
During The Liturgy of the Word, she placed the Bible at the Altar in front of the Television. She also put everyone phones at the Television for some reason. When AB Simon started Blessing of the Water, she pulled a bottle of Holy Water from the Altar and put it in front of the Television. I think she loved this part; When AB Simon started sprinkling Holy Water on the few who were helping him for the Vigil mass she pulled the bottle of Holy water and sprinkled it on us and herself.
What my little niece did reminded to always believe and to never stop believing. Nothing is impossible for God and HE is always present with us. All I need and all I have left is faith.
